How Liquidity book Service works

This service allows you to determine the most profitable exchange to buy or sell a specific amount of cryptocurrency.

Our calculation method

Unlike at a foreign currency exchange where the price of exchanging one currency for another is known in advance, by buying any amount of currency on the exchange, several transactions are made with different prices in accordance with orders in the market depth. Thus, the amount that will be spent on a purchase or received when selling a certain amount will be equal to the sum of the product of prices for the corresponding volumes:
We calculate such amounts for each of the exchanges and display the best in the corresponding cell: the largest amount that can be earned on a sale and the smallest on a purchase. By clicking on a cell, you can see the entire list of exchanges with the corresponding sales amounts, sorted from most profitable to least.
The amount for which the calculation is made is indicated in the column headings of the table, and currency pairs in the Market column. Pairs can be filtered both by currency and by quotation, and filtering occurs on the fly. You can also choose the method of sorting currency pairs: by name, by 24-hour volume, or by capitalization. You can change the order of sorting by clicking on the Market column. The sorting of currency pairs according to market capitalization is done first by base currency, and then all pairs of the same base currency are sorted by quote currency. The sorting of pairs according to volume is done using the total trading volume of the currencies over the past 24 hours on exchanges that participate in the Liquidity Book service:
HitBTC
Binance
Poloniex
Bittrex
Bitfinex
Huobi
OKEX

Comparison with the exchange

If you are already used to trading on a certain exchange, it is possible to compare sales amounts on this exchange with those on the other exchanges from the list. You can select the exchange you would like to compare above the table. For each cell, we calculate and display the coefficient as a ratio of execution on a chosen exchange to the execution on the best exchange for bids. For asks, we calculate the coefficient as the execution on the best exchange to the execution on the chosen one:
for bids, or asks.
In addition, each cell will be given a color:
Poloniex: 2.0457 $2,367.90
Green — the selected exchange provides the best performance, or is imperceptibly worse than the rest (the amount of execution varies by 0.2% or less)
Poloniex: 0.9980 $2,367.90
Yellow — the selected exchange does not provide the best performance, is slightly or generally worse than the rest (the amount of execution varies by 0.2% - 2%).
Poloniex: 0.6682 $2,367.90
Red — the selected exchange does not provide the best performance, is significantly worse than the rest (the amount of execution varies by more than 2%).
Binance: 2.0457 $2,367.90
When the compare function is disabled, the color display disappears.
Thus, the ratio and the amount of execution for the best exchange after the one selected for comparison will be displayed in the cell. In comparison mode, the exchange selected for comparison cannot be displayed in a cell.

Choosing ranges

It is possible to switch to different ranges of calculated volumes. First range: 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 1, 5, 10; second range: 0.3, 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250 BTC. When switching to display only view or ask only, the ranges are supplemented: first range: 0.01, 0.03, 0.05, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 1, 3, 5, 10; second range: 0.3, 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 25, 50, 100, 250 BTC.
When calculating, equivalent volumes in BTC are recalculated for pairs at the corresponding current exchange rate. For example, to calculate the volume of 10 BTC for XRP / ETH:
Let the rate be ETH / BTC: 0.03, then the volume to calculate XRP / ETH is 10 / 0.03 = 333.33 ETH.

No liquidity occasions

If at any stage of the calculation, when passing through the levels of the market depth, the conditions are not fulfilled right up to the last level, then those cells are colored gray and displayed in the cells.
Compare function is turned on:
Not enough liquidity
there is an insufficient amount on the exchange selected for comparison, on other exchanges the amount may be as indicated in the drop-down list.
No liquidity
there is an insufficient amount on any exchanges, the drop-down list is not shown.
Not enough liquidity for other exchanges
there is an insufficient amount on every exchange except the one being compared, the drop-down list is not shown.
Compare function is turned off:
Not enough liquidity
lack of liquidity on some exchanges is displayed in the drop-down list (such exchanges are at the end of the list).
No liquidity
there is an insufficient amount on any exchanges, the drop-down list is not shown.
There may be cases when there is a direct pair on one exchange and a reverse pair on the other, for example, BTC/USDC on one exchange and USDC/BTC on the other. Calculations for such pairs are made as for one pair and you will see the amounts of execution and coefficient taking into account both pairs. If you did not find the desired pair in the Market column, try searching for it reversed.
