Vertcoin’s value mostly lies in its ASIC-resistance, maintained by timely forks and a new mining algorithm called Lyra2REv2. Vertcoin is mined with GPUs only, making it highly accessible for regular computer owners. The VTC crypto was launched on January 11, 2014. The block reward of the Vertcoin network is 25 coins and the block reward is halved every 4 years.
