CyberGhost VPN: Best Mobile-Friendly VPN for Crypto Trading
Nothing beats having a secure VPN that’s mobile-friendly. Most, if not all, crypto traders prefer being able to monitor their trades on the move. Who doesn’t like the appeal and convenience mobile phones bring to the crypto trading scene?
That said, I decided to hunt for the top mobile-friendly VPN for crypto trading. And in my search, I found that most traders raved so much about CyberGhost VPN. True to that, this VPN is packed with outstanding features that I can’t wait to share with you guys.
Here’s my honest opinion on this VPN app; the good and the bad and what I loved about it. So, strap in and let’s get started!
CyberGhost CryptoTrading VPN App in 2024: Key features
CyberGhost was launched back in 2011 but was sold to Kape Technologies, the same company that owns ExpressVPN. It makes me wonder if they are comparable! But that’s a discussion for another day. Moving on swiftly, here are the top mobile VPN features that make this app outshine the rest in this field.
No Logs Policy
Today, most governments are trying their very best to have some bit of control of the decentralized system. In fact, a couple of government bodies are already forcing their way into this space, gathering crypto transaction data. The unfortunate part is that their actions are compromising the integrity of your privacy, causing leaks and weaknesses in the already robust decentralized systems.
The result: most people are losing their cryptos whenever they transact. But with CyberGhost’s no logs policy, you can finally get back your privacy. From my own experience, CyberGhost never stored, saved or shared my information as I was trading.
From what I’ve read on their platform, the company’s headquarter seems to be outside the jurisdiction of top governments. As such, they can’t be forced to disclose or share your data with the government, which is a huge plus. Almost all third parties and government bodies can’t snoop on you or even access your crypto wallet. That’s complete anonymity, which is quite fun to experience.
Top Notch Encryption
CyberGhost VPN takes its portable VPN services for secure crypto trading to a whole new level. There’s no single loophole left to chance for hackers to get access to your crypto wallet or even IP address. Their system is rock solid.
CyberGhost VPN ensured all my crypto trading passed through their dedicated private and secure servers at all times. They also added an extra layer of security with their 256-bit AES military-grade encryption. That means anyone who tried to check or snoop on my information only got to see a scrambled mess.
Built-in Kill Switch
Another exciting feature that’s worth mentioning, though honestly I’ve seen it in most crypto trading VPNs, is the kill switch. This kill switch cuts your internet connection once the VPN is down to reduce any chances of leakages.
Previous VPN versions always had this flaw. Whenever the internet was down, your IP address could leak and cause unwanted vulnerabilities in your system despite having a premium package. But that’s not the case with this VPN. Several tests proved that it’s pretty effective.
DNS Leak Protection
Aside from the kill switch, it’s also good to have a DNS leak protection. That’s because leaks are not confined to connection issues alone. In rare cases, your VPN might have trouble trying to push all your traffic through it’s network, hence causing a DNS leak. That will reveal the apps that you are using to trade, and in the hands of an expert hacker, you could quickly lose your crypto.
Thankfully, CyberGhost has a robust DNS leak protection that’s virtually impossible to bypass. The company encrypts all the traffic from the DNS servers to your devices. On top of that, CyberGhost VPN takes a step further by disabling the IPv6 traffic; hence, other third-party individuals can’t trace your crypto browsing history. That helps improve your anonymity and privacy.
Intuitive Andriod Version
Now, onto the fun part! With CyberGhost, you can easily trade on your mobile without worrying about your information leaking to third parties. All you have to do is install the app on your mobile and run it. And that’s it! I was able to anonymously access apps such as Huobi, Binance, and Kraken while taking a walk around the park.
Most VPNs are restricted to computers, which sometimes is a little challenging. I can see traders using this app to trade on their phones on the road without necessarily pulling out their laptops.
CyberGhost's Security Suite
CyberGhost VPN is equipped with a robust security suite, featuring support for industry-standard protocols like OpenVPN, IKEv2/IPSec, and WireGuard. Its advanced security features include RAM-only servers for secure data wiping, perfect forward secrecy for enhanced encryption, and built-in leak protection against DNS and IPv6 leaks.
Additionally, the VPN has undergone an independent audit by Deloitte, confirming its strong privacy measures and no-logs policy, demonstrating its commitment to user security and privacy.
CyberGhost's platform compatibility is also impressive, with apps available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and Amazon Fire TV, among others. Users can connect up to seven devices simultaneously, ensuring comprehensive coverage across their digital ecosystem.
CyberGhost vs. Competitors
CyberGhost has positioned itself as a premier mobile-friendly VPN for crypto traders, but how does it stack up against its top competitors? Let's dive into a comparative analysis:
CyberGhost vs NordVPN
CyberGhost vs ExpressVPN
What I liked
- Of course, the first thing I liked about this VPN is it’s mobile friendliness. CyberGhost is packed with tons of amazing mobile VPN features that make it the right choice for secure and anonymous VPN for on-the-go crypto trading.
- When you first install this app, the CyberGhost VPN starts to calibrate the best server location. That helps to link you to the fastest nearby server. I was able to get incredible speeds with this feature.
- Another plus is that CyberGhost VPN allocates you a dedicated IP instead of sharing with others. That adds an extra layer of privacy to your crypto trading journey.
- The company has access to thousands of worldwide servers (over 9000 servers in 91 countries.) You will always get access to the fast and secure internet no matter where you are.
CyberGhost VPN also has a free trial, but I wouldn’t be so excited about it. That’s because you only get a 24-hour free trial, which I think is not enough time to test out a specific VPN service.
If you're after the best VPN for torrenting, CyberGhost is my top pick. It offers dedicated servers for P2P activities in 91 countries, including NoSpy servers for enhanced privacy and security, making it a standout choice for safe and efficient torrenting.
CyberGhost's setup process and interface are incredibly user-friendly across all my devices. The app guides you through the initial configuration, and the intuitive layout allows quick access to specialized servers for streaming, gaming, and torrenting.
- CyberGhost's unique features, like optimized streaming servers and split-tunneling on Android, further enhance the user experience. And their responsive 24/7 live chat support, as well as efficient refund process, ensure I can get help whenever I need it.
What I didn’t like
- CyberGhost seems to have an unclear ownership and past. The company says it’s situated in Romania. Still, other sources point out that it was bought by a digital advertising company, CrossRider, and other sources suggest Kape Tech bought it.
Verdict: Is CyberGhost the Go-To Mobile VPN for Crypto Trading?
CyberGhost VPN has an impeccable interface and mobile app that makes this VPN an excellent choice for mobile applications. On top of that, it also ensures you have complete anonymity and privacy while trading. I didn’t experience any glitches throughout my testing period, and that’s a big thumbs up.
However, it’s important to note that some people have raised privacy concerns that the company seems to be using HotJar scripts (recording scripts) in their network. The company responded to this claim and said they are using it to give better customer service to their clients.
We all love a good experience, especially when you are using a secure network to surf the internet. But I’m sure that could be a buzz kill to most. All in all, CyberGhost still ranks up as one of the best mobile VPNs for crypto trading, and I’d definitely recommend it. Read more about how it stands up against it's competitors here!
